Its the Wife carrying event!

The resort of Sunny River in Western Maine isn’t normally associated with sporting heroics. But on Sunday, it saw 43 dedicated teams of athletes battle it out for supremacy in that noblest of sporting events: the North American Wife Carrying Championships.

Perhaps unexpectedly, given that this is an event traditionally associated with Wife Carrying, the couples don’t actually have to be married. And in good news for gender equality, the woman can carry the man if that works better for them.

Couples must navigate a 250 metre obstacle course in the fastest time possible. Many teams favour the ‘Estonian’ carry, where the ‘wife’ holds her ‘husband’ around his waist and tightens her legs about his neck, thereby freeing the husband’s hands.

After a hard fought competition, Reeder Famnestock and Sarah Silverberg of New Hampshire claimed victory in the final, after a stumble in the water left Austin Stonebreaker and Cary Girod in second place.

Let me be the first to congratulate the couple…..clap handys!

Ok, so on the show today i was talking about ANOTHER EMBARRASSING MOMENT.

Incase you werent chooned in the story was…

was very hungry last night bout half 9 id say….NOTHING in the house, this naturally was begining to annoy me.

I was disgracefully tired too, so i just didnt wanna leave the house…..in the end i had to…tesco is only across the road so i headed over for some food….ended up pickin pasta, got some wedges and a bitta meat aswell!….just to wash it down.

was gonna head to the self checkout thingys where your basically talking to a machine…..im a people person…i like human beings who breath oxygen so i qued at a regular checkout, with a lovely woman named sammy serving….

she had blue hair…it was ridiculous… it was the bomb…

Now for some reason the place was pretty busy ….was in a long que aswell….and my hands were COMPLETELY full…This is all to set the scene by the way….

NOW… how many of you ALWAYS have your phone on you? ya most would…..so mine was in my pocket….NOT on silent…

Again hands full….phone wedged in the pocket of my jeans……Someone by the name of lauren decides to send me a text msg….at this point you can either float or sink……all depending on your msg tone….ME being the attention hungry individual that i am have a slightly different tone…picture me in a long busy que in tesco….hands fulll….therefore cant access my phone…not your usual beeps but instead……(played it on the show today)

and it went something like ” Message, message, message” etc…whilest getting louder and more intense!!!

This naturally led me to SEVERE embarrassment….and it didnt help EVERYONE turning to have a snigger haha! Come to think of it….it was HILLARIOUS!!!

A i do i then got you to text in and here are some msgs i recieved…priceless!!

*I was at a funeral and the coffin was about to go into the ground when my phone rang very loudly wit a Destinys child Survivor! Nearly died myself. Debbie*

*I rang my boyfriend when he was n d jacks. His ring tone was i cant speak french. Nd apparently der were guys on either side givin him funny looks!*

*We were in mass and it was quiet for a prayer and my brothers phone went off extremely loud.. “drop it like its hot”..*

*My mother was at a gaa presentation a few years ago. The hall was packed and her phone started to ring. She had a ring tone that sounded like a horse.*

Remember the documentary “Supersize me?

Why are Americans so fat? Two words: fast food. What would happen if you ate nothing but fast food for an entire month? Filmmaker Morgan Spurlock does just that and embarks on the most perilous journey of his life. The rules? For 30 days he can’t eat or drink anything that isn’t on McDonald’s menu; he must wolf three squares a day; he must consume everything on the menu at least once and supersize his meal if asked. Spurlock treks across the country interviewing a host of experts on fast food and an equal number of regular folk while chowing down at the Golden Arches. Spurlock’s grueling drive-through diet spirals him into a physical and emotional metamorphosis that will make you think twice about picking up another Big Mac.

In 2002, director Morgan Spurlock subjected himself to a diet based only in McDonald’s fast food three times a day for thirty days and without working out. His objective was to prove why most of the Americans are so fat, with many cases of obesity. He began the shootings submitting himself to a complete check-up with three doctors, and along the weeks, he compared his weight and results of exams, coming through a scary conclusion.

Documentary filmmaker Morgan Spurlock makes himself a test subject of this documentary about the commercial food industry. Rigorously eating a diet of McDonald’s fast food, three times a day for a month straight. Spurlock is out to prove the physical and mental effects of consuming fast food. While doing this, Spurlock also provides a look at the food culture in America through it’s schools, corporations, and politics as seen through the eyes of regular people and health advocates. “Super Size Me” is a movie that sheds a new light on what has become one of humanitys biggest health problems: obesity!!

Well now the comedian Doug benson has took the concept of “Supersize me”, and has put his spin on it with his own personal hobby…

I stuck it in the oul Dvd player last night, and i must say really enjoyed it….It had a heavy comedic value to it, matched with some very interesting and educational facts….None of which il go into right now!

None the less, a good watch overall! thumbs up!
